Excellent - photos with me smiling! What happened to the rest of you?? haha We must remember to have a smile of concentration. I know it's SO hard sometimes when counting the bars and remembering the next text and notes, but it is important when we are performing - because we are performing! Sounding pretty good last night at rehearsal team. The count-down is on for October :-)

the hardest thing is smiling while singing... but it sounds much better when you do - don't you think?

hrmm.... I'm going to have to disagree. I believe that depending on how much you smile, you'll squash your sound. lol mind you, it does look good when you sing and smile.

Hey peeps! Newsflash: there's more to smiling than just the mouth!! Smiling involves the eyes and eyebrows too. These shouldn't distort in any way the sound. In fact I distinctly recollect the fabulous and learned Celia discussing this with us prior to BOTC. Was the term "dolly soprano" or something? I'm pretty sure the point was about making sure your eyes were alive. "Then one morning you passed, and I brightened at last..."

sometimes it feels silly, because you're not sure if you're overdoing it - however sometimes i find that I think I'm over smiling only to see a video of myself later NOT smiling enough .... This was especially the case on Battle of the choirs!
